“Let’s give even more visibility to our scientific expertise”

“The Collective of Authors and Authors The Conversation was officially launched, within our university, and in the presence of Didier Pourquery , journalist and president of The Conversation France .

The objective of this collective is multiple:

  • promote the scientific expertise of our university’s teacher-researchers,
  • Encourage them to collaborate with this free online media entirely dedicated to science and thus strengthen the place of scientists in the public space and society,
  • Better support teachers, researchers, doctoral students in using this media ,
  • Removing apprehensions regarding the press in general

The Conversation is an independent media, a non-profit association, which promotes the expertise of academics. This media has existed in France since 2015. It has more than 8,000 authors in the region and around thirty researchers from our university are already contributors. With The Conversation , access to content is completely free and the media publishes a newsletter every morning with around ten articles, and podcasts, thus offering another look at current events. For academics, this media offers a real showcase because the site is based on a free access system, multiplied by republication.

Getting involved in The Conversation is a way to promote the expertise and knowledge of our researchers. This also makes it possible to strengthen the visibility of our institution, that of the various scientific projects and thus demonstrate the dynamism of our research units and structures. Our Collective of authors The Conversation , through regular exchanges and feedback, aims to support those who wish to collaborate with this media. It can, for example, on a voluntary basis, set up sponsorships , practical journalistic writing workshops with in particular the support of journalists from The Conversation, meetings dedicated to the functioning of the media... Our collective also aims to position itself as an additional space allowing, among other things, to surround doctoral students who want to take up such an approach to promoting their research work.

This collective is open to everyone, even if you are not a contributor .
