Professor of art history and archeology of the ancient Greek world, Laurence Cavalier is a specialist in classical architecture, with a focus on the study of ornamentation. After leading archaeological excavations in Turkey and Tunisia, since 2018 she has been head of the international archaeological mission “sanctuary of chthonic divinities” in Agrigento (Sicily). His areas of research cover monumental architecture and funerary architecture as well as urban planning and religious topography in the Greek world, up to the Roman era.
