On December 8, 2022, UR Plurielles is organizing a meeting with Michael Kleeberg around his work as a writer and translator: “Behind the scenes of Weltliteratur: Michael Kleeberg and Marcel Proust”.

Michael Kleeberg is the author of novels and short stories and has received numerous literary prizes in Germany. He is also a translator from French and English. As such, he is one of the many translators of Marcel Proust. During this workshop, the writer-translator will share his experience as a translator and return to this dual writing practice. Questions of aesthetic transfers between the translated work ( Combray , Un amour de Swann ) and the work of the author ( Karlmann ) will be addressed.

This event is part of a cycle of workshops co-organized by Lidwine Portes and Isabelle Poulin as part of the transversal theme of the Plurielles “Translation, cosmopolitanism, plurilingualism” and in the training offer of the Doctoral School .
